Vaishno Devi Temple, located in the Trikta Mountains, 61 kilometers from Jammu, is visited by thousands of devotees each year. He is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus in North India. The temple is at an altitude of 5,200 feet and Goddess Shakti is worshiped here in the form of Maha Kali, Maha Saraswati, and Maha Lakshmi. The shrine is a cave temple and houses the three divine "Pindis" or stone representations of her three energy forms worshiped as the Goddess above. Interestingly, all Pindi differ in color and texture, even though they share the same rough stone. The pale white rock is said to represent Goddess Saraswati on the far left, the yellow-red rock in the middle represents Goddess Lakshmi, and the black rock on the left represents Goddess Kali.
